EY Ireland records 31% increase in revenue to €705m


Revenues at EY Ireland’s operations across the island of Ireland climbed by almost a third to €705m in the year to the end of June.

The accountancy and professional services business also increased the number of staff it employs to 5,035, up 19% on the previous year, a net increase of 827.

Assurance, consulting, tax and law units saw the strongest performance during the period.

The Irish arm of the company has recorded a compound annual growth rate of 14.9% over the past five years.

“This exceptional performance further underscores our position as the largest and fastest growing professional services firm on the island of Ireland,” said Frank O’Keeffe, Managing Partner, EY Ireland.

“This fantastic result for EY Ireland has been driven by strategic investments in our world-class teams and in our technology, all underpinned by a relentless focus on quality and delivering excellence for our clients who continue to turn to us in record numbers to help them solve their most complex challenges.”

EY has offices in Dublin, Belfast, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford and all reported growth during the year.

1,000 new positions were recently announced for the Northern Ireland business.

“Since 2018 we have more than doubled our headcount in response to strong client demand across tax and law, audit, corporate finance and consulting,” said Mr O’Keeffe.

“We continue to hire for key skills, including in AI, data analytics, tax, law, audit, strategy, modelling, change management and cloud computing to name but a few.”
